An online support group exclusively for neurodivergent queer folks where we will discuss navigating day to day challenges of being neuroqueer in neurotypical and cis-het world and finding and developing techniques Plus listening to first hand experiences of others. This space is facilitated by a neuroqueer therapist.
As a neuroqueer person, and being a therapist to several others, I realized how important it is to find community support for issues like these as it is difficult to navigate the world alone with two major identities overlapping and affecting every aspect of their life like job, romantic relationships, social relations, especially when the struggles arenβt even acknowledged by the neurotypical cis het world. This is space for unmasking and having derailed thoughts and big feelings!
This group is an initiative to create a community for discussing issues specifically related to neuroqueers in a neurotypical cis het society that makes day to day life a major hassle.
This is a support group for queer adults with lived experience of neurodivergence (regardless of medical diagnosis or self diagnosis). Some of the formal names of the different forms of neurodivergence we’re inviting are Tic disorder, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disability (Eg: Dyslexia/Dysgraphia), PTSD, Down syndrome, OCD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Bipolar Disorder.
This is space for unmasking and having derailed thoughts and big feelings! We will be doing small activities while accommodating needs of the group. We will follow a topic in every session and will make the sharing and activities centred around this.
The facilitator is a trained mental health professional and list of trusted professionals and helplines that is provided to members before we begin. Peer supervision will be acquired by the facilitator as per need to make the sessions more effective and smooth.
The group is not equipped to support needs of a person with active suicidal ideation. Self harm can be discussed with necessary trigger warnings. Helpline numbers can be provided but crisis response cannot be provided to the participants. It is encouraged that participants be honest about these issues in advance.
We will start with a check in and then start with the chosen topic for the day. It will then be each participant sharing their experiences and thoughts. The facilitator will be there for smooth regulation of group.

The hope is to create a safe space to unmask and build a community where your experiences are echoed. It will help co-create some skills and techniques that can be helpful. This space will be used to do body doubling at times which will help all the folks get done with their task

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
