Simple and doable self-affirming tools for inner exploration of our thoughts and emotions!
At Writing Affirmations for The Meh, author-artist Adwaita Das shares affirmative prompts to guide participants through emotional processing while we scribble, think, feel, breathe, and just let ourselves be. A Psychologist provides mental health support during the session.
This is not a writing workshop, anyone who would like to explore their emotions and thoughts can attend this session.
Each session has a different set of themes and is designed to help us explore these themes. Memories, emotions, thoughts, bodily sensations related to the themes can come up during the session. Through the session we also have easy grounding body movements to help regulate and soothe ourselves.
This space is open to anyone feeling the Meh. The Meh can be overwhelming thoughts and feelings, or numbness; a way to say you’re not okay.
Writing For The Meh began in May 2020 as a way to help Indians engage with their overwhelming emotions caused by the pandemic. In these 4 years, it has been incredible to see people from across the country (and out) engage with their emotions and thoughts and find the space safe to share what they’re going through with a group of strangers. It has also been really special to see participants returning and not really being strangers anymore :)

Through Mithra Trust she began to offer Let’s Discuss The Meh sessions as a space to have conversations around depression. At the start of the pandemic, Adwaita came on board to offer safe spaces for self-expression and self-reflection with Doodles For The Meh and Writing For The Meh. These methods of creative self-expression was born out of Adwaita’s own practice for engaging with their own mental well-being. These therapeutic sessions have continued post the pandemic seeing a much larger gap in mental health needs.
This is a group for everyday problems and open to Indians 18+ years. We have anyone struggling with their mental health and looking for tools to manage their well-being join us.
We believe in a non-labelling, non-diagnostic approach to mental health, and believe in individual as well as community care. At the end of sessions, we direct participants to other mental health resources, many created by Mithra Trust, as well as those by others.
We do not offer therapy ourselves, but we have a list of recommended and verified therapists who offer sliding scales for payment. We also have a list of Helplines that people can contact during a crisis. During the session, we have a Psychologist who can provide Mental Health first aid support.
Writing Affirmations For The Meh is a largely non-interactive session. We have a sharing space for 10-12 minutes, with voluntary sharing. During this time, we welcome all conversations, but reminding that there is limited time and we also do not offer any direct mental health help. We can direct people to resources as they may need to continue conversations that have come up here.
Each session is 1hr 15 minutes. We begin with introduction to the space and take time to settle in. Adwaita introduces us to the themes and takes us through the process of writing affirmations for oneself. We stop to breathe & stretch. Adwaita then takes us through the next theme and guides us through the proess of writing affirmations for ourselves. We stop to breathe and stretch/move our body. With 15 mins to go, we have a voluntary sharing space led by the Psychologist, and then we close.
We meet on Zoom but switching on video is not necessary. We do not take pictures or recordings. We calling people by their names mentioned and are mindful of pronouns. We mention Theme Warnings before sharing. We avoid movement on camera, or moving the camera itself to avoid visual disorientation. We do not share participant info with anyone, including other participants.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
