Shades of The Meh creates a playful safe space to become aware of colour in our daily lives and its tremendous impact on us as human beings. Unlearning stereotypes in language and imagery, we reclaim our roots, process our experiences, understand our needs, empower each of our unique identities, by simple practices of scribbling, colouring, breathing and just being.
In working on Doodles For The Meh & Writing Affirmations for the Meh, we saw the need to de-colonise colours and everything associated with it.
In the Shades of The Meh Session, the facilitator guides the participants through each colour & associated thoughts and emotions to help them connect with what is going on within. The session also consists of breathing and light movement of the body to help regulate the nervous system and ground.
Notes: The above information may change from time to time, and is shared with you to understand the background of where the support group comes from.Shades of The Meh is a new offering. It comes out of the need to de-colonise colours and work through its impacts on our mental and emotional wellbeing.
Anyone who would like to learn a self-expression tool and is interested in the intersection of de-colonisation & mental wellbeing.
We do not offer therapy, however we have a list of recommended and verified therapists.

This is a space to learn tools for self-expression, there is a little bit of sharing at the end but it is not talking space.
Each session is 1hr 15 minutes. We begin with check-ins & introductions. Adwaita introduces us to the first colour & guides us with prompts to the underlying emotion. We stop to breathe & stretch. Adwaita takes us through the next colour. We stop to breathe and stretch/move our body. We end with affirmations and sharing.
No pictures and recording. Calling people by their names mentioned and being mindful of their pronouns. Trigger warning before sharing

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
