Since I was in my teens, I was always approached by friends and acquaintances to discuss their challenges. It felt like somewhere people found it comforting to put their trust in me for difficult moments of their lives and I felt a sense of satisfaction as well after being able to give them the needed support. That’s when I chanced upon Psychology, read about it and pursued it! My interest for the subject kept growing as it helped build so much insight for me individually too, so taking it forward to other people felt like a natural next step.
The possibility of being able to make a difference in someone’s life and being able to offer support when it might not be felt otherwise are the two biggest things that keep me going.
Feeling heard, comfortable and understood are the feelings I hope each client leaves with post the first session. Along with that, building the beginnings of having a sense of direction in our work together is also something that I hope to establish with them.
I would say what Nike says - Just Do It! If you have even had a slight intentionality towards therapy for exploring whatever it is that’s on your mind or in your body, it may be the only thing to have before starting therapy and the rest can be determined by the process. Although, please feel free to ask questions or even discuss feedback at any time through our sessions.
One where we are both together in the space to explore what matters to you, with adequate time for re-checking, assessing comfort and only bringing up information once you feel ready.
That there is so much resilience that we are all capable of, we just don’t give ourselves enough credit.
I believe that different therapists have different approaches, personalities, session styles and structures that might work for different people as well. If my ‘different’ compliments my client’s ‘different’, its a match! And the ability to recognize both the match and mismatch and work accordingly is what I value.
Dance, listen to music, binge-watch favourite shows!
I use an eclectic approach, which means that I pick on many different approaches in psychotherapy on the basis of the needs of the client. Whether it may be the need for structure, for exploration of past experiences or understanding self in the system/culture; this approach helps in picking up methods that work dynamically on the go.
By keeping the space open and non-judgemental, like I would do for any other client and simultaneously also picking up from queer affirmative approaches that help in the contextual understanding, whilst also sometimes being honest and learning more in the process of therapy as the client is the best expert on their life.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
