I chose psychotherapy because forming relationships with people and being part of their journeys feels fulfilling to me.
To constantly challenge dominant narratives around us.
After the first session I would like clients to know that they are not a problem, that they are doing their best to survive and cope in a difficult and challenging world.
I like to tell them that they call the shots in therapy. They can ask as many questions as they’d like about the professional and the process. I also like to tell them that counseling is an added mechanism in the plethora of things that they already are doing to survive/cope.
The relationship is collaborative and warm. I like to deconstruct the power dynamics and invite clients to fully participate in the process.
Greatest learning has been that people live full, rounded lives and actively respond to challenging circumstances and form meaningful relationships.
One of the biggest strength is the capacity to be realistic during therapy and accommodate shortcomings in terms of skills and continuously keep myself updated and upgraded with popular discourses.
Take lot of naps. Read.
I believe that people are constantly responding to challenging systems around them, which is what constitutes the belief that people are not the problem, but problems are the problem. I also have a trauma informed lens which means that I understand the roles certain events (either singular or consistent) play in the lives of people. Therefore, I understand the roles our bodies play in our lives. Another approach, which is popularly known as transactional analysis and internal family systems, which focus on how we are made up of different parts, identities and how each identify is contributing to specific parts of our lives .
I completed the course in Queer affirmative practices. I am also keeping myself informed about queer narratives written and spoken about by queer people.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
