Get To Know Muskan:

  • Why did you choose to become a counsellor?

My path into psychology began early, shaped by my mother’s mental health journey and a deep curiosity about how people grow through what they go through. This curiosity, supported by a reflective and spiritual upbringing, evolved into a clear vision: to understand human behavior deeply and create safe, informed spaces for healing.

  • What excites you about your work as a counsellor?

Mental health is personal to me. Growing up alongside my mother’s Bipolar Disorder showed me how deeply it affects individuals and families and how healing in one person can ripple outward. My commitment to this work is also rooted in my own growth, supported by therapy, spiritual practices, and a strong support system. Being a psychologist isn’t just my profession it’s a way of life, grounded in service, reflection, and the quiet power of holding space for others to heal.

  • What do you hope for your clients to experience after their first session with you?

Therapy is a collaborative process where I would create the space for client to feel heard and understood while sharing their concerns and take some resources to connect to their inner world after the session.

  • What would you wish to tell a client who is thinking about seeking counselling?

A therapeutic relationship with the right therapist can greatly help you gain clarity about both your inner and outer world. It provides a safe and confidential space to open up about your silent struggles. Therapy is a journey that helps you discover your true self and authentic needs.

  • Describe the relationship that you would wish to build with your client in counselling.

I see therapy as more than just a tool for healing, it’s a holistic process that honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, emotions, and behaviors. In work together, we explore how these layers interact and shape their experience of the world, aiming to foster inner alignment that supports healthier relationships, greater ease at work, and a deeper sense of balance.

  • In your counselling work so far, what has been your greatest learning from your clients?

In my journey of working with people of different genders, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds, I have realized that all humans, when given a safe and non-judgmental space, want to share their vulnerabilities, seek support, understand themselves better, and grow.

  • What are some of your strengths as a counsellor that you value and appreciate?

I am warm, compassionate and empathetic therapist who has an eclectic and holistic approach towards mental health. I meet the client where they are at currently, and at the same time you play an active role in the therapy dynamic.

  • What are some of the things you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy resting, socializing, cycling, creating art, and gardening.

  • What is the therapeutic approach you use? How would you describe it to someone who wants to consult you for therapy?

My approach integrates evidence-based and experiential modalities like Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Somatic practices (Body Work) woven into a humanistic, trauma-informed framework. I also recognize that mental health doesn’t exist in isolation. Together, we explore how systemic influences, social conditioning, and cultural norms impact your sense of agency especially if you don’t fit into society’s neat boxes. My practice is a space to challenge those narratives, embrace your full identity, and be supported without judgment or pressure to conform.

  • How do you make your therapeutic practice a safe and affirmative space for queer and trans* folx?

I take a keen interest in understanding the unique life stressors that queer and trans folks experience both internally and externally. I continuously challenge the narratives within my own circle of privilege and work to deconstruct the hierarchies that determine one’s level of privilege and accessibility.
