My journey began in an inclusive school environment, and even during my Master’s, I studied in an inclusive setting. Being surrounded by diverse emotional and learning needs from the very start shaped my perspective and deepened my desire to hold space for others. I’ve always known I wanted to be a counsellor because it aligns with who I am at my core-empathetic, an active listener, and someone who finds meaning in creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where people can truly be themselves. That early exposure and personal resonance made this path feel not just natural, but necessary.
Honestly, what excites me the most is seeing my clients feel better-even a small shift in their mood or mindset makes me feel incredibly fulfilled. Every time someone shares that a session helped or made them feel seen, it reassures me that I’m on the right path. Spiritually and emotionally, I feel grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life, and I genuinely give it my all to support that change.
As a client myself, I’ve felt the deep impact of being truly seen, heard, and having my pain acknowledged-and that’s exactly what I hope to offer in the first session. It’s not about giving advice or rushing into solutions, but about creating a space where the client feels safe, comfortable, and free to share whatever they’re holding. My intention is always to ensure that they don’t leave with doubt or regret about reaching out-but instead, with a sense of relief and hope that they’ve taken the first step toward healing.
I know that deciding to reach out to a professional can feel daunting and even a little scary. But the fact that you’re aware of what you want to work on-and have taken this first step-already speaks volumes about your readiness to do the inner work. You’ve crossed the biggest hurdle, and that takes strength.
From here on, no matter what challenges come up, we’ll face them together. You’re not alone in this anymore, and we’ll figure things out at a pace that feels right for you.
I’ve always believed that therapy is a levelled, collaborative relationship-not one where the therapist holds power over the client. In my practice, I make it a point to remind clients that the power lies with them. Whether it’s choosing what goals to work on, how often they want to meet, or the pace they’re comfortable with-these decisions are always theirs.
I aim to create a space where clients feel equal, heard, and empowered in the process. I see my role as someone walking alongside them, offering support and perspective, but always honouring their autonomy and inner wisdom.
Honestly, my clients have been some of my biggest teachers. They’ve shown me how showing up-even on the hardest days-is an act of courage. I’ve learned that healing doesn’t always look like big breakthroughs; sometimes it’s in the smallest shifts, quiet realizations, or just being able to breathe a little easier. They’ve reminded me again and again that it’s okay to not have it all figured out, and that growth takes time, patience, and compassion.
One strength I truly value is my sharp memory-I pay close attention while listening, which helps me hold on to the small but meaningful details clients share. Many clients have shared how seen and understood they feel when I remember something they mentioned weeks ago. I also bring a directional and goal-oriented approach, especially when working with clients who prefer structure. In those cases, I use a solution-focused lens to help move toward their goals within a clear timeline. I believe in offering reflections that are honest yet gentle-helping build a relationship rooted in trust, emotional clarity, and care.
Whatever time I get off work, I love spending it with my son-engaging him in fun and creative activities. I’m passionate about dancing, and I enjoy painting and playing with colors as a way to unwind. And of course, I’m always up for a good Netflix binge and some well-deserved chill time.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I focus on understanding your story-what’s been happening, how it’s affecting you, and what kind of change you’re hoping for.
In our sessions, I’ll gently help you explore your thoughts and emotions, look at patterns that may be holding you back, and support you in finding practical ways to cope or move forward. I believe that you already hold a lot of insight-we just work together to bring it to the surface in a safe and supportive space. You set the pace, and I walk alongside you with curiosity, care, and respect.
For me, being queer-affirmative isn’t just about being supportive-it’s about being informed. I believe that awareness doesn’t come from performativity, but from genuinely understanding the lived experiences, struggles, and nuances of queer and trans* identities. I make it a point to stay updated through continuous reading, learning from queer-affirmative resources, and reflecting on my own biases. I’m mindful of using correct pronouns, creating a non-judgmental space, and recognizing the systemic challenges many queer clients face. Having close friendships and ongoing conversations with folks from the community has also deepened my understanding. I see this as an ongoing process of learning, unlearning, and staying accountable-both as a therapist and a human being.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
