Psychology has always been a subject Iโve naturally gravitated towards. Over the years, my academic journey deepened this interest and helped me understand the vital role mental health professionals play in society. Experiencing the impact of therapy firsthand made me realize just how transformative a therapistโs presence can be in someoneโs life. That insight became a turning point, inspiring me to take on this path and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others in my own way.
Getting the opportunity to witness unique stories of people and their ways of dealing with life’s struggles in so many shades and forms is something not every person gets to do on a regular basis. It’s almost like getting the permission to enter into a person’s world of imagination, perceptions and desires one room at a time, sitting there, understanding how it feels like to sit there and also getting curious about what the other rooms might contain. I find this work quite special and magical in that essence.
I hope my clients leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and a little lighter, knowing they donโt have to navigate things alone.
Therapy is a place where you’re absolutely FREEE to be yourself! Isn’t that amazing? So whether it’s a lot of anger that’s coming to you or a stubborn sadness that is around you for days or months, feel free to bring that bag of emotions the way it is, to me. I will not even be the last person on Earth to judge you for anything that you tell me in the session. (crossing my heart as I say this).
Below are a few things that I’d like for you to know:
1. You have the right to ask me any question you want to related to therapy or otherwise without any hesitation or fear.
2. Please do not feel the pressure ’to feel normal’ in a particular time frame while you’re in therapy. What is normal anyway? It’s only human to feel crazy in this scary world. Every person is allowed to heal at their own pace in this journey of self-discovery.
3. Success in therapy is not solely dependent on the therapist. The effect of the environment in which a person lives and functions, their friends, family etc. have a huge role to play in their mental well-being. Therefore, it would be really helpful if you see me as your guide in this process who is there to understand you the way you want to be understood and help you in a way so that you can feel empowered and liberated to live your life wholly on your terms.
Mutual respect, honesty and empathy for each other throughout our therapeutic journey are some of the core values that we would be keeping in mind to keep our relationship safe and secure at all times. Afterall, a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors which helps in determining positive outcomes. Together, we will be working towards building trust, safety and transparency in our relationship.
One of the most important learnings that I hold close to my work from my training in Narrative Practices so far is the idea that ‘People are always, always responding to problems in their own ways’. So, be it making a cup of tea for oneself, feeding a dog, or even laying in bed for hours for that matter, every small step taken by an individual counts when life is throwing lemons (or tangerines :P) in your way and that little step is worthy of attention.
As a neurodivergent person, I take pride in my ability to feel deeply. This sensitivity fuels my empathy and strengthens my work with individuals, young people, and communities from diverse backgrounds. Creativity is a big part of who I am, which shapes how I think, communicate, and design personalized, thoughtful approaches for each of my clients. And, if I may say so quietly-Iโve often been told Iโm a really good listener. :)
Reading for leisure, watching series and doing nothing at times.
I extensively use narrative therapy in my practice which allows me to really tune into people’s lives, their stories around problems, wishes, and desires that they hold close to themselves. This helps me in re-shaping their narratives and co-working towards a preferred way of living in a manner that aligns with their vision of ‘being’ in this world. In addition to this, I use art-based approaches in sessions, which help in self-expression and emotion regulation. This goes for all people irrespective of their caste, class, race, sex and gender identities. Above all, I deeply acknowledge the impact of colonization on every aspect of our lives and remain committed to practicing in ways that are decolonizing, anti-caste, anti-oppressive, and queer-affirming; upholding values of equality, inclusivity and fairness within and beyond the therapy space.
The registration form that I use for my clients inform me of their gender, the pronouns they go by and their sexual orientation which gives me a certain context of their identities. For the love of learning new things, I attend workshops, seek guidance through supervision and read up on studies related to gender and sexuality from time to time. I hold myself accountable for any assumptions or biases made by me (unintentionally) towards queer and trans folks.
Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
