Counselling has helped me connect better with people. Over the years, it has taught me how empathy and a safe space can work wonders for people. Sometimes we carry wounds from our past that we may not be even aware of. Listening to someone’s story is a privilege and I’m glad I chose this profession.
The ability to hold space for someone is what excites and scares me at the same time. A professor once told me, “You might be the first person in your client’s life who is hearing their side of the story” This has completely changed the way I look at therapy.
Hope is the first word that comes to me when I think about takeaways. I also wish that they consider this (therapy) as a safe space, a place where they can be vulnerable without any judgements and know that they will be heard or seen no matter what may come.
You are not alone and remember you deserve to seek help just like everyone else. It might seem like a lot, but you’re only human to feel this way and that’s where our greatest strength lies in. Knowing when to reach out is a strength. I hope you will find it inside you. When you do, we will be right here.
I wish to build a collaborative relationship with my client. As therapists, we do carry our client’s stories outside of therapy rooms and I wish to build one on trust and honesty. I ensure there is no hierarchy or a position of authority. Client knows better about their lives and it’s a privilege to learn about their inner worlds. I make sure to provide a rationale on every new activity/ homework that I bring to the session. I’m always open to feedbacks and understanding what is working and not-working.
We all deserve to be heard and seen. Sometimes our personal relationships might not exactly give us this kind of space. Here comes therapy where you can explore and get insights & perspective. Authentic relationships cannot exist without you being vulnerable and no matter how scary it is, you still show up.
I’m Trauma informed and multi cultural sensitive. I believe in an intersectional approach and how context and power plays a huge role in mental health. I’m someone who looks at strengths and motivation in an individual, a good listener and also has a knack for writing content on Mental Health.
I enjoy colouring Mandalas, cycling and reading books.
I use Person centered therapy and see clients from a trauma informed/ strength based lens. PCT is client directed. Therapist considers clients to know the best about their lives. Therapist provides a non-judgmental and safe space to the client. Strength based is basically looking at your strengths, aspiration, motivation rather than another diagnosis. Trauma lens means we look at clients through their context and also understand how past trauma can show up in different areas of our life without us knowing.
I start by introducing my pronouns - a small but important step. I make sure I use inclusive words and jargons. I like to continue by sharing a little information about myself to help them feel comfortable. I talk about my approach and understand their concerns and goals.
I read books on QACP and try to enroll myself in courses that would help me understand better.
When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting & less scary

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
