Happened by chance ! I did not even know about the field ! It was my father who inculcated empathy & social awareness in me. As a child I was also fascinated with science , specifically Biology . Behold I learned Neuroscience in College as part of Psychology . Asked questions to my family & Professors , observed people a lot. Noticed that I have a ability to blend with people & understand their circumstances , lots of self-introspection, being an introvert helped a lot :). Slowly came to realization that the therapy or counselling is something I would like to. My capability to understand human psyche - includes their thoughts, emotions, cultures, choices , reactions, their motivations, survival has made being a therapist a blessing for me.
Groundwork, meeting people, learning from them, their potentials, motivations.
That there is a safe space, a person who is here to listen to you. You are not alone.
Reach out & ask questions about therapy, do not hesitate . Therapy is highly tailored as per the individual’s defined problems.
Collaborative relationship that acknowledges feedback (give & take) , respect & confidentiality, listening to both sides of the stories, building support systems.

I am empathetic as a person, but my most appreciated skill would be ability to understand the cultural nuances , background, socia- economic strata’s.
I also provide lots of emotional space for the individual to think, assimilate, work on their newfound or developing skills.

I am an ally . Personally support LGBTQIA++ community. I believe in a motto “Live & let live”. I ensure I respect their pronouns & their boundaries. I personally keep myself updated as well , but I too ask them questions after ensuring they are comfortable answering too.
Trauma is a fact of life. It does not however have to be a life sentence

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
