Something that really excites me about my work is the opportunity to be part of people’s journey and witness the unique ways in which they navigate their lives.
The most beautiful aspect is that I’m growing and learning alongside them every day. This shared growth serves as a profound source of fulfillment and satisfaction in my work.
After our first session, I hope my clients gain a clear understanding of what our journey together will entail and an awareness of my therapeutic approaches. I also aim for them to feel informed about their rights as clients. Additionally, the first session is an opportunity for both of us to assess whether we are a good match for this journey.
I make every effort for my clients to leave the session with a sense of comfort and safety, feeling heard and assured that every aspect of their being was nurtured and valued during our time together.
I wish to build an equal, respectful, and honest relationship with my clients from the moment they first engage with me. Instead of dictating directives to them, I aim to engage in a collaborative process where we jointly explore and make sense of their experiences, enabling them to exercise agency in aligning their lives with their values, hopes, and commitments.
I firmly believe that people are the true experts of their own lives, possessing the skills and abilities to navigate challenges and move toward their preferred futures.
My approach to therapy is shaped by narrative therapy and social justice principles. This simply means that I stay mindful of the client’s context and the various aspects of their identity, such as gender, sexuality, caste, religion, class, and other nuances, while holding a safe space for them.
I explain to my clients that my training in narrative therapy helps me to walk alongside them, support and guide them as they uncover their strengths, rewrite narratives that no longer serve them, and embrace their own agency in shaping their future rather than directing or leading them in their journey. Together, we navigate their story in a way that honors their experiences and empowers their growth.
I regularly engage in training led by queer and trans individuals to deepen my understanding of their lived experiences and gain insights from diverse perspectives.
Also, supervision is key to my growth. I work with a queer-identified therapist whose guidance has helped make my practice more inclusive and affirming. This has allowed me to critically examine my biases and navigate gender and sexuality complexities beyond language and pronouns.
I approach this work with humility, always open to learning from my clients. Being queer-affirmative, for me, is an ongoing process of reflection, unlearning, and staying committed to the principles of inclusivity and respect.

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
