The art of seeing the inner world of people as well as the science behind supporting them has always interested me. Growing up, I have had first hand experience with stigma around mental health and the difficulty many people go through to find a professional who understands them. I wanted to create a space where people can get to experience acceptance and change.
Getting to see a sense of relief, hope and insight in clients has always inspired me to show up for them. It has been incredibly rewarding for me to create these moments when small shifts occur in the way clients see themselves.
After their first session, I want them to leave with a sense of hope - that the emotional struggles they are going through are navigable with therapy and that their feelings & experiences are valid.
Therapy is collaborative- feel free to ask questions and share your doubts (even about the therapy process). You have the right to open up at your pace and share feedback about what is helpful/unhelpful. Therapy is about what the client wants to get out of it.
From the start, I encourage my clients to share their expectations, preferences and feedback. I often check in with them to see how we are doing and if they would like to see something additional happen. You will find me taking your consent regularly before digging deeper, sharing my thoughts or discussing a sensitive area - this is because creating a sense of safety and trust is the basis of all the work we do together.
Witnessing my clients’ journey, I realised that human beings have an innate capacity to heal, even in their darkest phases. It still amazes me how, when people feel seen, accepted and supported, they’re able to tap into their own wisdom and strengths that they were unaware of.
I regularly come across feedback like “I have never opened up to anyone about this”, “I talked more than I thought I would” from clients who are new to therapy. I realised that people find it easy to express themselves freely with me. I also get to hear “I didn’t think of it this way, this makes sense” quite often from clients, which made me realise that noticing patterns and turning them into insights is another asset that I could appreciate about my therapist-self. I also bring a strong sense of cultural sensitivity to my work which allows me to connect with diverse people and identities.
In my free time, you would find me collecting ideas on Pinterest, videogaming, practicing my guitar and writing in nature.
My approach to therapy is integrative, which means I draw from different therapies to choose what works best for your situation. I take into account the client’s culture, identity and systems they have to navigate daily. The discussions are centered around the present or the recent past (Since I work from a trauma-informed approach, I generally don’t discuss childhood unless it’s necessary or is requested by the client). Together, we explore your experiences to make sense of them and practice coping skills in the sessions (whenever the client feels ready) to process intense emotions and painful thoughts.
I believe that each person is the expert of their own identity and experience. I am intentional about using inclusive language and preferred pronouns without question. I am aware of how norms around gender, sexuality & relationships can be oppressive in nature, and queer folks often carry trauma from discrimination and potential rejection from those around them. I strive to keep myself updated with affirmative practices, along with working with a queer-affirmative supervisor and learning from the lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ communities.
The curious paradox is, once I accept myself, then I can change

We've developed a curation process over 7+ years, which allows us to carefully curate each inclusive and affirming mental health provider listed on our platform.
We have come a long way since we started in 2018, and have been adapting our curation process every day. From the time a therapist or support group reaches out to us, it takes about 1 - 2 months to complete the process.
We launched TheMindClan.com because we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find support for ourselves and our loved ones. We know that experiences of neurodivergence (like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc), or being from a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, etc), can make it especially challenging to find support.
We understand the overwhelming feeling of scrolling through endless lists, wondering whom to trust, and not knowing what to expect.
If you appreciate our mission of making mental health care accessible and inclusive, and would love to bring this to your organization or collaborate with us, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
