A ‘Binary’ is the assumption that there are only two fixed ways in which something can exist.

They Classify All Experiences Under Two Opposite Extremes.

Black > White | Yes > No |  On > Off

Extremes Often Fail To Capture The True Essence Of An Experience.

Black > HAS A LOT OF GREY > White | Yes > partially on > partially off > No

When we assume the world works in binaries, we don’t give justice to someone’s true experiences.

Notice the experiences that society makes you believe exist only within a binary. Challenge them. In the coming weeks, we’re helping you understand and challenge the binaries of Gender, Sex, Sexuality, and other concepts.
