Divya and Harsheen, A mentor and a student. Two ambitious women with a different vision to understand the world but alike belief in the healing power of sharing narratives for sound mental health and wellbeing motivated them to co-found an initiative Through Thick & Thin.
They recollect how openly sharing and expressing have always been a troublesome task. Some used to listen passively and judged them for oversharing, whereas others invalidated their emotional state. Many of us are fortunate to have a roof over our head but we, like many others, lack emotional support which they both consider to be a basic need for sound health. They were prompt to build such inclusive groups and creating a culture of dialogue and conversations around everyday stressors because sometimes it’s the daily stressors and hassles, if kept to oneself, can build up in the form of mental illness. Coming from a Psychology background, Divya and Harsheen both believe in the therapeutic power of ‘me too’ in mental health.
The problem they are trying to capture is that there is just a disease-based model of mental health. Yellow Epiphanies is trying to create an alternative proactive model for comprehensive psychological health which is wellness based.
