The primary goal of this workshop is to help participants foster a non-judgmental relationship with their emotions and to learn effective strategies for working through them. We aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where attendees can share their challenges and current methods of dealing with difficult emotions. Based on these shared experiences, we will collaborate to develop coping strategies that are tailored to each individual, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities such as writing and others.
Workshop Structure:
Session 1: Observing and feeling your emotions
Identifying and naming your emotions
Understanding the concept of ‘sitting with your emotions’
Learning how to ‘sit with your emotions’
Session 2: Calm body, Calm mind
Exploring the mind-body connection
Understanding the impact of strong emotions on the brain
Identifying how emotions manifest in our bodies and learning techniques for release
Session 3: Managing emotions through your thoughts
Techniques for reframing
Understanding cognitive defusion
Recognizing cognitive distortions
Session 4: Cultivating Skills to manage your emotions better
Identifying and honoring your core values
Developing self-compassion
Overcoming self-limiting beliefs

She also supports individuals who engage in long-term psychotherapy for self-growth, healing, and empowerment, and works extensively with complex and chronic psychological concerns. She views therapy as an emotionally corrective experience that helps individuals feel seen, understood, and supported. Her person-centered, process-oriented approach integrates cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and systemic frameworks. Apoorva has specialized training in CBT from the Beck Institute, USA, and Family & Systemic Therapy from Bower Place, Australia. She has also trained in Object Relations Psychoanalysis (ORI, USA) and is currently pursuing Level 1 and 2 Complex Trauma Certification by Dr. Janina Fisher (PESI). She is a professional member of ISSTD, USA, and considers emotional regulation and emotional safety to be the foundation for deeper therapeutic work.
