    • Years of Experience: 8+ years
    • Groups Facilitated at SoulUp: 2
    • Relevant Expertise: Substance Use Disorders, Alcohol Dependence, Relapse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Family Therapy, Community-based Rehabilitation
Sharad Kasera is an RCI-registered Rehabilitation Counsellor with extensive hands-on experience in mental health and addiction recovery. He has conducted more than 1,000 successful interventions across both clinical and community de-addiction settings. His work blends evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change Model and mindfulness, supported by a strong grounding in psychoeducation, emotional regulation and family engagement. His expertise has been strongly shaped by his training at NIMHANS, Bangalore, where he completed a three-month certification in Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Promotion, working closely with individuals who had attempted suicide and their families at Victoria Hospital.
Sharad has worked for years at renowned rehabilitation centres, supporting individuals dealing with harmful alcohol use and co-occurring mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. He recently founded his own De-addiction and Psychosocial Rehabilitation service where he continues this work. He finds this field deeply meaningful because every recovery represents a family reunited with their son, father, husband or brother. Seeing clients send messages or visit with their families to share that they are doing better because of therapy is what keeps him committed to this path. He has facilitated support spaces for alcohol dependence before and brings this experience into SoulUp’s Alcohol Addiction Support Group to help clients move toward long-term recovery with clarity, connection and hope.
