My decision to become a counsellor was shaped by both curiosity and lived experience. Over time, I came to appreciate how much our relationships, life events, and the support we receive can influence the way we move through the world. Being able to walk alongside people as they make sense of their experiences continues to feel deeply meaningful.
What excites me most is that no two conversations are ever the same. I love getting to know people beyond the labels or symptoms they come in with and being part of the moments when things begin to make a little more sense.
More than anything, I hope clients leave feeling comfortable enough to come back. Therapy takes time, and the first session is often about getting to know each other. If they leave feeling understood, accepted and a little more hopeful than when they walked in.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s okay if you’re feeling unsure. You don’t have to commit to the entire process from day one—sometimes the first session is simply about seeing if it feels like the right fit. You’re also allowed to ask questions, share feedback, and decide what feels comfortable for you. We can take it slow, one step at a time!
I want therapy to feel like a conversation where clients can be their own imperfect selves. I hope to build a therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable and safe enough bringing all parts of themselves into the room—the messy and uncertain parts included. My role is to bring my training and perspective, while clients bring their expertise on their own lives.
That people are far more resilient than they often believe they are. Being in this field has also often reminded me that healing isn’t linear and that meaningful change rarely comes overnight. I’ve learnt to trust the process, stay curious, and remember that even small shifts can have a lasting impact.
I think my strengths lie in being curious, warm and easy to talk to. I like taking the time to understand the person, not just the problem. Clients have often shared that they feel heard, gently challenged when needed, and comfortable being themselves without worrying about being judged.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, binge-watching thrillers, picking up new languages, and dreaming up my next holiday. These days, though, my favourite moments are the ones spent with my little one.
My approach is integrative and flexible because I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. I take the time to understand you, your experiences and what matters most to you, and together we decide what might be helpful. Some sessions may focus on understanding patterns and emotions, while others may be more practical and centered around building skills or trying new ways of coping.
I strive to create a space where queer and trans clients feel seen, respected and affirmed. I have been working with queer clients and try not to make assumptions about identity, relationships or lived experiences. For me, queer-affirmative practice is an ongoing commitment. I make time to follow queer mental health educators, stay updated with current literature, and take regular supervision to reflect on my practice and challenge my own biases. Having said that, if I ever get something wrong, I hope clients feel comfortable sharing that with me, so we can address it in sessions together.
I think its going to be really hard... but I think its going to be really beautiful.
