  • Can you share some details about your journey of choosing to work in the field of mental health with us?
    I have studied mental health as an academic pursuit for the greater part of my adult life, but my personal trysts with the necessity and beauty of the subject – from the lenses of psychology, philosophy, art, spirituality, neuroscience, culture and real-life experience have shown me that well-being isn’t fragmented into body and mind, and neither are these fields. The intersection of these fields is what excites me most, and I am constantly exploring new ways to view, experience and impact mental health.
  • Tell us a bit about the kind of events on mental health that you facilitate.
    I strive to create safe spaces for expression, across mediums and channels of communication. My workshops thus far have explored the constructs of Everyday kindness, Self care, Self expression, Art-based storytelling, Movement, Music and Poetry.
  • What excites you about your work as a facilitator?
    Forming a real connect with another being, even if for a moment. And helping people find and tell their story, unapologetically.
  • How do you think group interactions are helpful in addressing mental health and self-care for an individual?
    I think they allow people to be more accepting of themselves – you feel less alone in your journey and also reflect as you listen to others share. There is an underlying bond between people who make space for your vulnerability, and it is beautiful to see strangers bring that out in each other, sometimes a lot more than close family and friends can.
  • In your work as a facilitator so far, what has been your greatest learning from your interactions with participants?
    That everyone just wants to be heard, seen and understood, for who they are. You don’t necessarily have to resolve everybody’s challenges – you just have to notice and acknowledge them, and let people know that their feelings, whatever they are, are valid and real.
  • What are some of your strengths as a facilitator that you value and appreciate?
    I believe I accept and invite the most genuine, honest and present self in everyone I’m around, and extend the same to them. I hold no moral high ground or judgement towards anyone, as I don’t believe to ever have the right answer, only perspective, if at all.

    Storytelling, Learning, Conversations, Tinkering

    Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.
