Can you share some details about your journey of choosing to work in the field of mental health with us?
It is something that I hoped to do from undergraduate days of studying psychology. I have had the privilege of meeting narrative ways of working in my post graduate work and have aligned my practice to these ideas and practices over the past 15 years.
Tell us a bit about the kind of events on mental health that you facilitate.

What excites you about your work as a facilitator?
I am interested in interacting with people from all walks of life, all cultures and all walks of society. Also, it is my understanding that me understand that in order to make a difference in the lives of people it is vital to understand both individual situations and problems and the larger community contexts that play a major role in the lives of all people. Workshops and groups give me the opportunity to work with this context of people’s lives.
How do you think group interactions are helpful in addressing mental health and self-care for an individual?
They link the lives of people together and reduce isolation, give people a sense of community, increase awareness and deconstruct stigma.
In your work as a facilitator so far, what has been your greatest learning from your interactions with participants?
That people are always responding to the problems in their lives and that they have skills, abilities, agency.
What are some of your strengths as a facilitator that you value and appreciate?
Being respectful. Genuine interest in people’s experiences. Being able to collaborate and co-learn with people.
