I loved social psychology and cognitive psychology during my undergraduate degree and happened to stumble onto clinical psychology. As I have evolved as a professional over the past few years, I have expanded my focus from psychodiagnostics and psychometric assessment to therapeutic interventions, psychosocial interventions, trainings, and research.
Most participants just need the kind of support and guidance and are capable of implementing long term changes in their lives. One need not develop a God complex when working in this field. Something that I see a lot of professionals developing, sadly.
