"A support group for all (Desi) Single Parents needs."

What is your founding story?

"The Village aims to be a one-stop shop for all Desi Single Parents needs, whether it be for legal, financial, sex ed, mental, special education teachers/counsellors... etc. By providing Single Parents professionals, The Village seeks to remove the many levels of awkwardness that could come in while dealing with a non-single parent professional. The Village also seems to normalise the conversation about and around Single Parenting."

Who is your group for?

"The Village is a support group only for Single Parents, which by our definition is anyone who has in their active care a minor child, either by the grant of direct custody, secondary custody or by extension of the law (grandparents or other close relations deemed as legal guardians by the court), widowhood, desertion ,adoption, surrogacy. To join, you could also be at any stage of your separation or divorce proceedings. You will not questioned on …"

"We usually don’t follow an agenda but sometimes I bring in an expert. Like last month I had a zentangle healer to take a session for us via zoom and it has now become a much requested practice."
