What is the group about?

"An online support group exclusively for neurodivergent queer folks where we will discuss navigating day to day challenges of being neuroqueer in neurotypical and cis-het world and finding and developing techniques Plus listening to first hand experiences of others. This space is facilitated by a neuroqueer therapist."

What is your founding story?

"As a neuroqueer person, and being a therapist to several others, I realized how important it is to find community support for issues like these as it is difficult to navigate the world alone with two major identities overlapping and affecting every aspect of their life like job, romantic relationships, social relations, especially when the struggles aren’t even acknowledged by the neurotypical cis het world. Who is your group for?

"This is a support group for queer adults with lived experience of neurodivergence (regardless of medical diagnosis or self diagnosis). Some of the formal names of the different forms of neurodivergence we're inviting are Tic disorder, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disability (Eg: Dyslexia/Dysgraphia), PTSD, Down syndrome, OCD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Bipolar Disorder."

How does one sign up? What’s the coordination process like?

"Once you fill the google form you will receive an email for an intro call post which you will receive the topic and google meet link for the same."

Walk us through the average format of your group session.

"We will start with a check in and then start with the chosen topic for the day. It will then be each participant sharing their experiences and thoughts. The facilitator will be there for smooth regulation of group."

What do you hope for participants in your group to take back with them after a session?

"The hope is to create a safe space to unmask and build a community where your experiences are echoed. It will help co-create some skills and techniques that can be helpful. This space will be used to do body doubling at times which will help all the folks get done with their task"
