"Peer Space is a support group offered by the Tapestry Project designed for young adults to dive head first into self-exploration and reflection in a constructive environment. Rooted in a firm belief in the idea of "Mutual Healing" - the Peer Space community unites around an ever changing theme of the week, that draws directly from the lived experiences of young adults across India; be it college, self-image, or individual values! …"

What is your founding story?

"The brainchild of two friends with a shared passion for mental health awareness, Peer Space was founded as a simple support group for college students. We understood that between being a young adult adjusting to the world, exams, and navigating life as a whole, there were no spaces for people like us to unite and find community. So Peer Space was born! "

"Support Group for young adults from any background looking for a sense of community and understanding. Peer Space is for those that want to take the first steps towards growth and change in a safe and non-judgmental environment! We have members from across India participate in groups and we always welcome fresh ideas and perspectives. "

How does one sign up? What’s the coordination process like?

"Since we are free of cost, signing up is a simple 3 step process: 1. Refer to our Instagram for announcements of our latest group and its theme 2. Visit the website and go to the Peer Space tab, click register now and fill the Google Form 3. Look out for a confirmation email with details on group! Hope to see you there :)"

Walk us through the average format of your group session.

"We begin each group with a round of icebreakers, which then leads into check in. During check ins we share how our weeks went, and identify our moods and attitudes. We then share a couple disclaimers about group, and then dive right into the Mindfulness. The mindfulness runs for no more than 10 minutes, and serves to prepare us for the sharing ahead. Theme Processing 1 is to introduce the theme and gain some collective understanding about what it …"

What do you hope for participants in your group to take back with them after a session?

"We hope that you leave group with a sense of understanding about yourself. Each theme of the week represents a facet of the experiences unique to young adults, and so we at Peer Space want to demystify the process of self-improvement and self-exploration. We aim to start our members' journeys towards progress for themselves and for the people around them by leaving group feeling seen, heard, and recognized. We strive to create the sense of …"
