What is the group about?

"A warm, judgment-free space for cancer survivors to connect, share, and heal together. This peer meet opens conversations around reclaiming normalcy, managing fear of recurrence, understanding a changing body, navigating hidden guilt, and discovering who you’ve become after treatment. It’s a space for honesty, empathy, and real connection —a reminder that you’re not walking this path alone."

What is your founding story?

"Our facilitator Tanisha Mahanta, a blood cancer survivor, had a journey that completely reshaped her understanding of life, strength, fear, and healing. Surviving cancer is life alternating and it requires healing which is not just physical but emotional, mental, and deeply human. She learnt how powerful it is to be heard without judgment and supported without having to explain yourself. From her own journey, she truly believe that such a space …"

"One can either call or text us on to enquire or register for the peer support. They can also directly register through our website."

Walk us through the average format of your group session.

"We start the session on time. The session is started with the general rules and protocols of the peer support, followed by an introduction of the facilitator and the mental health professional present. We then get started into the topic of the meet. We ask starter questions or prompts that may help members contribute to the conversation. The session last for one hour. In the last five minutes, we conduct a grounding technique to leave people on a …"

What do you hope for participants in your group to take back with them after a session?

"We hope that each participant at the end of the meet feels like they are not alone. They are able to reflect on their own thoughts and actions. That they’re able to better communicate their feelings in a safe environment."
