What is the group about?

"A non-judgmental and non-clinical space for people with Borderline Personality Disorder to find a sense of community and understanding, BPD Space is one facet of the Tapestry Project's mission of Mutual Healing. By building up communal support and validation, we aim to break the stigma surrounding BPD, and provide a safe space for individuals with BPD to express themselves. "

What is your founding story?

"Having been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, I have experienced how lonely it is live with. I sought to create a BPD support group because I realized how many people there are out there whom, like I was, are desperate to be seen, heard, and understood. I have experienced the power of community in the healing of BPD first hand, and found that the infrastructure of communal support was non-existent here in India. Run by peers, the …"

Who is your group for?

"BPD Space is open only to people professionally diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. We welcome members from the ages of 18-25, and from 25-40. All members of group share a common commitment to self-improvement, community building and open communication."

How does one sign up? What’s the coordination process like?

"1. Consult with your psychiatrist if peer support is the right fit for you 1. Obtain a signed certificate from your clinician attesting your diagnosis and fitness to participate 1. Visit the website and go to the BPD Space tab, click register now and fill the Google Form 1. Look out for a confirmation email with details about group. Walk us through the average format of your group session.

"We begin each group with a round of icebreakers, which then leads into check in. During check ins we share how our weeks went, and identify our moods and attitudes. We then share a couple disclaimers about group, and then dive right into the Mindfulness. The mindfulness runs for no more than 10 minutes, and serves to prepare us for the sharing ahead. What do you hope for participants in your group to take back with them after a session?

"I hope that you leave group with a renewed sense of hope. You are not alone in your journey and BPD Space is here to prove it! When members join our group, they are a part of our community. I hope that you take with you new information about yourselves and plenty of food for thought with every session.
