"BPD Humans is a monthly virtual meet up of people experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder, guided by a mental health professional. People here share what happened throughout the month, coping mechanisms and hold space for each other."

What is your founding story?

"Milana and Maheema were diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2018 and 2019 respectively. We were unable to find an eco system of people who suffered with this disorder and were left in misery. The stigma surrounding mental health and the lack of awareness, both by general population and mental health professionals did not help our growth which eventually led us to form Borderline Personality Disorder Humans. "People with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). A confirmed diagnosis by a mental health professional is compulsory before signing up."

How does one sign up? What’s the coordination process like?

"They reach out to us on Instagram or over email and then we give a form to fill up, confirming their diagnosis by a mental health professional and by formally stating their acceptance to all the terms and conditions of the group. And then they’re added to the community."

"It’s a free flowing session where people are free to discuss whatever is on their minds. It ends with a soothing exercise to ensure everyone is feeling okay. It is an iterative process where feedback is taken into account."
