Why they became a therapist.

"I was always keen on exploring people and their relationships to their environments from an academic-research point of view. However, once I explored it through the lens of psychotherapy during my Masters I became very keen to look at it differently. I think I took to the more human aspect of counselling and enjoyed witnessing and co-creating with people their unique life stories"

What they'd like a client's first session to be like.

"I would like them to be able to feel safe, understood and heard. Also important that they feel that this is a collaborative space and that they can actively participate and shape the process to make it their own"

How they make their practice a safe and affirmative space for queer and trans* folx.

"Continuously learning and unlearning through various trainings and being under regular supervision. Centering lived experiences and making sure to call out how the charmed circle biases play out into my client's lives. Using inclusive language in sessions and my intake form. Also, being very mindful of the privileges I hold as a cis-het person ."
